The Nevaton MKE400 is a back-electret condenser type microphone and was designed to combine a maximum of performance with small size and flexibility.

With outstanding parameters this mic has become the standard in feature films, television production and other areas of the entertainment industry in Russia. It is also a great choice to pick up the sound of various acoustic instruments.

The transducer is a prepolarized ultra-thin metal diaphragm. The microphone can handle up to 135 dB SPL before clipping occurs! This makes it even suitable for very loud sound-sources like snare drums.
It has a very low self noise level of only 23 dB(A) and a frequency range from 20-20000 Hz.

The MCE 400 uses transformerless circuitry, balanced output and operates on 9-52V phantom power. All used input transistors pass a special selection to guarantee minimal self-noise levels.
A gold-plated XLR-connector is used as an output-connector.

The mic is supplied with verious clamps, a small windshield and pop-protection.

It  is entirely handmade and is carefully tested in the acoustic laboratories of the Nevaton homebase in St.Petersburg before it leaves the factory.
