NEVATON VR – Ambisonic microphone for superior 360° spatial recordings
The Nevaton VR is an ambisonic microphone featuring a tetrahedral arrangement of four matched capsules, engineered for superior 360° spatial recordings. Decades of experience in manufacturing premium quality microphones are encapsulated in this microphone model.
The NEVATON VR features:
- Incredibly low self-noise of only 4dBA
- Ability to handle very high sound-pressure levels (up to 148dB)
- Switchable attenuation: -6dB, achieved by decreasing the polarization voltage (from 60 V to 30 V).
Note: Switching to 30V also enables the membrane to respond extremely quickly to very loud sounds! (gun shots, loud engines, etc.) - Switchable Low-cut filter (60Hz, 6dB/Oct)
- Heated capsules (for parameter stability in diverse climatic conditions): Two switchable heating modes: 4mA/8mA heating current
- Utilizing the 8mA switch position enables the use of very long cable runs exceeding 400 meters without any audible signal degradation.
- Newly designed RF filter against radio interference
- Switchable LED – the LED can be switched off, useful for film sets, stage performances, etc.
Delivery package includes:
- Nevaton VR in a robust & shockproof transport-case.
- The Nevaton VR comes with a ODU mini-snap 10pin -> 4 XLR3 breakout cable, with a standard cable length of 3 m (longer cable upon request)
- Shockmount
An additional cable (10pin->10pin) for the comfortable output from a windscreen is also available.
